Charming and nostalgic scenes of rural America are the themes of Grandma Moses' artwork. Born Anna Mary Roberson, she did not begin painting until she was in her late 70's! Grandma Moses's art resonates with an authenticity and sincerity that has made her a beloved figure in American art history. Students will study Taking In the Laundry and The Quilting Bee, after which they will create their own nostalgic work of art in a mixed media project pulling themes from several of Grandma Moses' work.
