Referred to as the Sphinx of Delft because of the mysteries surrounding this artist, Jan Vermeer was a master of the Dutch Renaissance. Students will study two paintings from Vermeer's small but influential catalogue of works - The Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Geographer. Students will then create their own Girl with a Pearl Earring by using a template (if needed), pencil colors, a grease marker, and finishing their work with a "pearl" earring.
