An art form which developed over a millenia, the technique of wood block printmaking began in China, spread to Japan, and many centuries later, influenced the art of impressionists and modern artists. Students will study The Great Wave by Hokusai and Craftsmen in Busy Print Shop Triptych by Kunisada as they learn the ancient process of wood block printmaking. They will then create their own version of The Great Wave using two of their own printblocks.
